It is rare to fly in only one aircraft through out a pilots lifetime. That is why the logbook entries of more than one aircraft, and aircraft time are tracked. The "aircraft" button on the left side of the application page allows the user to view and add aircrafts. Another method is that this can be done while editing or entering a log book entry.
When the user clicks the "Aircraft" button on the left page of the application or if they are editing a logbook entry, and select the aircraft button a table view dialog will display. The view allows the user to enter the aircraft registration number in the search box and as the registration is entered the matching row will be highlighted. This is helpful if there are a lot of aircraft entries in the logbook.
For each entry of aircrafts or rows, there is an edit icon and a "trash" icon. The edit icon opens a dialog box with that aircraft's information. The information can be edited and saved. The "trash" icon allows the aircraft entry to be deleted. A special message will pop-up if the aircraft is used by an entry in the logbook, and will inform the user that the aircraft will revert to an airplane type. This is of importance because the FAA 8710 form uses this data to put aircraft type totals in the proper column.
If editing the aircraft entry or making a new aircraft, this dialog box will ask for some information. The information is the aircraft tail number and the type of aircraft.
The registration or identifier field is the aircraft's registration or N-number(aka Tail number). The type of aircraft comes from a "select" button. This displays a select aircraft type dialog box. Press the "select" button on the row the aircraft type shows up. If no aircraft type identifier appears, then an aircraft type has to be created, by clicking the "add new aircraft type" button.
The Select aircraft type view has has a select button on one side and if click will fill in the aircraft type label in the aircraft edit dialog. The edit button on the right side allows the user to edit the aircraft type. There is an additional search field in this view if to help facilitate faster searching of aircraft types, by the short form format.
If editing the aircraft type or making a new aircraft type this dialog box asks for some pieces of information.
